Wholesome Breakfast Bowl

Having recently gone through a week packed with exams, projects, yoga classes, meetings, and little sleep, my time to prepare a wholesome meal was limited. I ended up swiping my debit card at the dining halls on campus more than I care to admit, which was unusual for me. Ninety-eight percent of the time, I prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner myself. Thankfully, Virginia Tech has phenomenal dining halls stocked with nutritious food options. However, my bank account takes a hard hit after awhile since I no longer have the luxury of an on-campus meal plan (enjoy it while you can, freshmen). I finally took a little time out of my schedule to make some homemade meals to have on hand the rest of the week.

Here is one recipe any college student can use when they also have a busy week:

Ingredients: 

  1. Greek yogurt
  2. Granola
  3. Almonds
  4. Cashews
  5. Walnuts
  6. Blueberries
  7. Raspberries
  8. Pineapple (option to use canned pineapple if you’re really in a time crunch)
  9. Grapes

Mix everything together, and you will have a bowl packed with nutritious ingredients to maintain the energy you need to make it through a hectic week.
